How important is fitness and physical strength relating to the believers and the final revelation of God. And the bonus question is, what are your current personal fitness regimes and / or your future fitness plans.

……
im just about to go to sleep, and thought id let out some of the stuff that is on my mind at the moment…. its pretty depressing but yeah, you can hate on it all you want, whatever.
im really tired of life aye… for many reasons….
im 20 years old at the moment, and have been sick since i was 17….. what type of sickness? i have no idea and neither do the doctors… i have researched my symptoms and tried numerous “ways” to get better but with no prevail…. everyday is hard….. i know millions of people out there have it alot harder than i do, but i still feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. i used to be so fit, into surfing and was planning on competing in bodybuilding comeptitions. im not sure if anybody reading this has ever physically seen years of hard work slowly fade away and had their dreams lost…. but let me tell you it is the worst feeling i have ever experience in my life… i gave up much of my teenage years and dedicated my days and nights to training hard and sleeping early, and to see 4 years of sacrifice slip through the gaps in your fingers like sand is so horrible, i would not wish it upon my worst enemies aye…..
every night i pray to god asking him “if he has a purpose in my life and that one day i will not be sick, then let me wake the next day, if not, to take me to heaven and not spend another day on this earth feeling like this” its deep i know, but im just venting aye…..
why am i feeling so low? at the moment i cant do anything active…. i can barely hold down my casual job at the video store…. i have no idea how i will be able to work full time, let alone have a family…. im so blessed to have a beautiful girlfriend but i have no idea why she puts up with me… my hands and feet are constantly ice cold which makes me hestiate when shaking peoples hands. even during and after exercise they are ice cold, doctors have no idea why. i cant go surfing (ive tried so many times) because my hands and feet go numb and i cant feel them at all. it takes over an hour in the shower to try and get the feeling back into them. ever heard of somebody getting frostbite from surfing in warm water? no, cos its rediculous.. but is very possible for me… when i do exercise (weights, cardio etc) my body doesnt sweat ate all (even during high exertion) or even warm up and the next day my muscles become so deeply sore that it hurts to move them, on top of being bed ridden for two days after with strong body fatigue… i am a full qualified personal trainer and cant even use that because “how can i teach someone to be healthy when i cant even do it myself”…… the reason alot of my problems are fitness related is because fitness is a big part of my life, and my body is almost alergic to it now…. try thinking of the one thing in your life that you are passionate about and love deeply, then not being able to interact with it or do it….. you will never fully understand what i feel…..
i have no idea what to do, i honeslty hope i dont wake up tomorrow…. i cant even imagine anymore what it would feel like to be free……
thanks for taking the time to read my garbage, if you do read through the whole thing, please, dont ever take your health for granted aye, cos i would do anything to have mine back.

I personally have seen quite a few martial arts and know the history, philosophy and intended use for many of them and could even say I know more about martial arts than most teens. But from reading up, some personal experience and watching lots of “Fight Quest” and “Human Weapon”, my top 5 martial arts for use in a fight with ANYONE (yes, even an MMA
) or in a self defence situation (like they’re meant to be lol) are as follows:
1. Sanda/San Shou :
Yes this is a Shaolin-based martial art and I see it as very effective!
Lots of strikes, no redundant or fancy moves, hard physical conditioning and a fair amount of takedowns which SHOULD lead to grappling (which we don’t see in Sanda KICKBOXING matches).
Not to mention a lot of muscular endurance required as well as the employment of iron body training (hitting yourself with a metal/bats, breaking bricks, balancing on spears, etc.)
2. Jeet Kune Do
I haven’t studied or read up on Jeet Kune Do as such (even though I have the Bruce Lee book “The Tao of Jeet Kune Do” which I STILL haven’t got round to reading yet!!!)
Anyway, from what I have read and heard about Bruce Lee, he almost certainly studied:
Tai Chi (Lee Hoi Cheun), Wing Tchun (Yip Man/Wong Shun Leung) , Boxing (fighting Gary Elms) ,Fencing (Peter Lee) , JuJitsu (Wally Jay), Judo (Gene La Bell), Karate (Chuck Norris/Ed Parker)
and also did (no conclusive proof/backstory): Phillipine based wrestling, The Phillipine’s Kali/Eskrima, Greco Roman Wrestling, Muay Thai, Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do,Savate and some sort of kickboxing.
It’s funny how these martial arts go together!
Anyway, considering Bruce Lee: had incredible speed (proven by blurring cameras so they had to increase the frames per second in a shoot), did one inch punches, side kicks that sent people/heavier objects than him flying, did God-knows how much jogging, and had tremendous muscular endurance; it is safe to say his JKD SHOULD have high fitness standards or develop fitness alongside the arsenal of core techniques in its syllabus.
3. Hapkido
Enough said, develops flexibility and speed the most in the form of high kicks (like tae kwon do) but also includes throws and grappling.
4. Japanese Jiu Jitsu
In theory this is the perfect martial art-it was used to kill armoured Samurai on the battlefield with or without the use of weapons. It has weapons techniques, strikes and and emphasis on standing grappling, throws, and last resort ground-based grappling.
5. Kyokushinkai Karate
Karate demanding extreme cardio threshold, muscular endurance and pain threshold via kumite with limited padding and hits to the chest! Like Sanda/Shaolin Wushu it has iron body training. Not to mention I think it involves throws and some sort of grappling (not sure if it had ground grappling but it’s great nontheless!).
These are what I think are the best anyway-mainly from the research and their marketing AND the fact that “Fight Quest” and “Human Weapon” had an MMA and a soldier/athelete with fighting arts experience struggling to do any sparring with the masters!
What do you think? Write your top 5 or say why you do/do not agree with me.
Oh yeah-I myself work out in the gym and have been kickboxing for approximately 2 years (well, 3 in total but I had college or bodybuilding took priority some of the times so let’s take a year off of that lol)
As I said I’m 6′2″ and weigh 365lbs. Last year around this time I moved away to college and decided to lose some weight (I weighed 370). When the school year ended, I was down to 332lbs. Since I have moved back home in May, I now weigh 365lbs. I am trying to lose weight but I keep gaining. I have calculated how many calories it would take to get to 250 in about a year. Since 3500 cal = 1 pound, I would eat about 1300 cal a day when not exercising and a little more when I do. I want to exercise in the mornings every other day but when I wake up, I feel too tired. I just don’t stick to my diet. If I did I know I could lose the weight. I am gone most of the day at school. I thought about joining a LA Fitness that I’ve seen not to far from school or getting a personal trainer for some motivation (which I’m lacking a lot). I thought about joining a MMA training place to get in shape. If there is any advice anyone can give me it would be great. (Things I should eat, times or places to exercise, low calorie foods, exercise equipment, etc). I am not trying to lose a 100lbs overnight. I know it’s hard work and a lifestyle change. I figure losing about 3 pounds a week should do it (3×52=150+ pounds). Are my goals unrealistic?
Please give as much info as you can thanks
Hey all, apologies for the wall of text.
I’ve been working out at the campus gym for about 2 years. I’ve lost a considerable amount of weight (around 30 lbs) and replaced it with muscle. I’d say I’m pretty darn fit. Occasionally I’d catch girls looking at me, start small talk sometimes, but yesterday I met this girl who is completely different from the others and I’m not sure about what to do.
I went to the gym yesterday morning at around 9am, and there were about 5 or 6 people there. This very cute girl approached me at the end of my dumb bell bench press sets (with my headphones on) and sparked up a conversation with me – asking me random questions about fitness and health. For example, she wanted to start doing some muscle training but she was a bit embarrassed to ask other people and she was too scared to attempt exercises by herself. Long story short, I gave her a few tips and even assisted her in a few exercises (I tried my best not to stare @ obvious places). We talked for about an hour about various things, such as school, where we live, how often we go to the gym/what times… then I had to leave because of work. She asked me what time I went to the gym and how often I visited, saying she was going to try to come at around the same times.
I’m very interested in this girl…so I’m wondering if anyone has similar experiences. If so, what should I do? I don’t want to come on too fast without knowing if she’s interested… and I’m not sure as to whether or not she thinks of me as just a free personal trainer (sigh) or if she decided to talk to me of all people because she’s interested.
what would be the right degree to go for and what certifications are a plus when trying to become a personal fitness trainer?
Im a 29 year old mother of two and I can make it to the gym about 3x per week. What routine can I use to be able to lose the lbs and tone up. I am looking for specific cardio advice AND ESPECIALLY weight training advice… which machines to use, etc. I am especially looking to tone the thigh & butt area. I cannot afford a personal trainer right now but want to get back on track to fitness. On the days I don’t go to the gym, I try to keep active by walking, chasing the kids, etc… THANKS!
