I would suggest locking on the idea of "personal" and guiding the students into exercise activities that don't necessarily require team play. Individual exercise. Things they can do on their own. Weightlifting, hiking and biking, archery, golf or croquet, and the obstacle course, all of these are personal activities that support fitness, and can be done without teams.
For a really fun activity that's out of the ordinary for PE classes, look into "orienteering" and "geocaching."
I think your goal is to give them something they can latch onto as an enjoyable healthy individual hobby, rather than an organized team sport.
